Humodile Melty Delft Platter
A delftesque depiction of a speculative scene where crocodiles run the world, instead of humans. These “Humodiles” are relaxing — reading a paper, smoking a cigar, boating for pleasure. Inspired by the saying in the artist’s Kadazan heritage in Borneo, that the animals in the rainforest can speak, but choose not to, so that they won’t be put to work.
